Coming to our fair city for a vacation?  Looking for that one gift for the hard to please?  Out of town guests and don't know what to do?  Unique Bar / Bat Mitzvah gift?  Or have you lived in this, one of the greatest cities in the world and do not know the history and how important New York is to American History?  Look no further, well look below to read about my tours and see what I offer. Tours can be more personalized, just let me know and we will talk.  I can guide small and large groups (I once lead 56 people through an unoccupied Wall Street), groups with children and or teenagers, school groups and corporate events.

THE BIG TOUR

This is a tour one should take early in a visit to NYC. This tour gives you an overall view of this town but with a great deal of specifics.  Starting in Times Square, we walk over to Rockefeller Center, then we go up to Central Park. After that we head over to Grand Central Terminal and then down to lower Manhattan where we find The Brooklyn Bridge, the World Trade Center site and the Financial District. Is there something you don't want to see or something that you do that is was not mentioned? Call me, we'll talk.  Tour length approximately 5 and a half hours*.

THE UNBELIEVABLE UPPER WEST SIDE
AND THE OLD VILLAGE OF BLOOMINGDALE

The site of George Washington's second battle of the Revolution, the home to The Odd Couple, Seinfeld, Rosemary's Baby and Lincoln Center. The birth place of Humphrey Bogart and Paramount Pictures. The final resting place of Ulysses S. Grant. Home to an Ivy League School, the largest Gothic structure in the world and the tallest church in the United States. The home to many legendary actors, legendary composers, some legendary criminals and some legendary characters. One of the most diverse and interesting neighborhoods in all of New York City.
Tour length approximately 3 hours*.

COLLEGE NEIGHBORHOOD TOURS
Do you have a child who is looking at college in New York City?  As a parent myself, I would want to know what kind of area my child would be living in so I designed a tour that hopefully will relieve some of the parental anxiety about sending a kid off to the mysterious and much maligned city that never sleeps.  New York City is made up of hundreds of neighborhoods, very much like small towns.  Two of these neighborhoods have very large educational institutions dominating the local scene. What I do is decipher and illuminate, for concerned parents, these small towns so you get an idea of the neighborhood your child will spend the next (hopefully only) 4 years.  The history, the historical sites, the best places to shop, eat, relax and places to avoid are pointed out.
Tour length approximately 2 and a half hours*.

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY
Saint John the Divine, Riverside Church, Grant's Tomb, The Hungarian Pastry Shop, Humphrey Bogart's birthplace and everything in between.

NYU
Washington Square Park, the site of the Triangle Shirt Waste Company fire, Astor Place, Cooper Union, McSorley's Ale House (oldest saloon in NYC - Lincoln drank there) Saint Marks Place, the haunted Saint Marks on the Bowery and again, everything in between.

The Fine Print
That is why it is small

The price of the tour is for up to 8 people. The cost of additional personnel in 15.00 each. However children under 6 are the exception – no charge.  I offer GROUP RATES so please contact me if you have a large group and we'll talk.

*Length of the tour times are approximate due to weather, traffic, crowds, subway delays and how much I talk (which can be plenty) and I usually go overtime so if you have another event that day please let me know.  Serious delays out of my control can effect the number of sites visited.  In addition, some areas and sites may not be visited due to an event, protest, movie shoot, weather situation or result of a weather situation - these things rarely happen but once in a while a situation arises.

What you get is an exceptional tour guide taking you around. Any other expenses including any meals, souvenirs, bail posting or any sort of admission fee (or admission donation) to any site is the client's responsibility.

These tours are walking tours.  In addition to walking we use the New York City subway system as it is the fastest and cheapest way to get around. This means that there are stairs to deal with and sometimes standing on the train. The purchase of a "Metrocard" or cards, necessary for using the New York City subway & bus system, is the client's responsibility.

Rental and tour prices subject to change without notice.
