“Is it not cruel to let our city die by degrees, stripped of all her proud monuments, until there will be nothing left of all her history and beauty to inspire our children? . . . this is the time to take a stand, to reverse the tide, so that we won’t all end up in a uniform world of steel and glass boxes.” - Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

Holger Lersch from Germany wrote this on his blog. I am sure that it is a great deal more elegant in the original language than Google Translate.
"Today I had the pleasure of a city tour along the aeltestens subway line in New York - line 6 - to participate.
Gary, an officially licensed city guide, provides a tour of "underground Manhattan" to, but in which he shows from the southern tip of up to Time Square along the subway some much, much more has to tell.
It's (unfortunately) not behind the scenes of the subway or in secret passages etc, but there are also accessible to the public in the parts of this section exciting enough to discover the Gary points.
Who is in New York and is interested for a truly authentic leadership of a local man who should contact Gary in conjunction."
I took the subway tour in February and it was awesome. I love trains and subways and this was a lot of fun. we rode to many different stations and learned their hidden secrets. this is a great tour for anyone who likes trains or NYC history. Gary is a great guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining. it's a really fun way to spend an afternoon.
Jim and Ros, Sydney, Australia We enjoyed every minute of this excellent tour. Gary has an encyclopaedic knowledge and is passionate in sharing his love of the city and it's history. We can highly recommend this tour.
Took the tour a couple months back and really enjoyed it. Gary has an extensive knowledge of the city and some good side facts to keep the gorup entertained. Theres enough to go over even if the trains arent cooperating so people arent just standing around. Definitely enjoyed it.
Gary is a font of information not just about subways but on the city of New York. He is a very nice guy and makes the tour pleasurable . My favorite part of the tour was Grand Central Station.
